Abrasive Pad, Maroon Hand Pad, 3M

The fine grit on this maroon pad is perfect for cleaning up aluminum edges without scratching the surface. I’ve been using it to scuff paint before refinishing, and it holds up much better than the cheap green pads I tried before.

Finally got around to using this pad for cleaning up some aluminum parts, and it really smooths out the surface without gouging. The maroon grade is perfect for a consistent scuffing before painting.

The maroon pad blends edges and deburrs without chewing up the work, which is exactly what I needed for a quick cleanup on the lathe. It’s held up through a few jobs so far, no tearing or falling apart mid-use.
