Boring Bar, 5/16" Indexable

The CCMT inserts lock in solidly without any wobble, and the 4-inch length is perfect for reaching into deep bores on my lathe. I was surprised how cleanly it cuts even in harder steels right out of the box. Definitely the best small boring bar I've used for precision work.

Finally, a boring bar that actually fits my small lathe tool post without hanging over. The 4" length and 0.437" minimum bore are spot on for the little brass parts I make, and the CCMT inserts drop in with zero fiddling.

Cut a few test bores in 1018 steel and the 5/16" shank held up without any chatter, even at the 0.437" minimum diameter. The CCMT inserts swapped out in seconds, which made dialing in the finish a lot less fiddly than my old solid bar.
