Headstock Casing, 8.5x20 Bench Lathe

The gears inside this casing mesh perfectly with the spindle, making the whole drive train feel smooth and precise during operation. It was a direct bolt-on replacement for my lathe, with no modifications needed.

The spindle sits rock-solid in this casing, and the gear housing fits my SC4 bench lathe perfectly without any shimming. Swapping it in took under an hour, and the workpiece rotation is noticeably smoother now.

The gear alignment inside this casing is spot-on, and the cast iron feels solid enough to handle heavy cuts without vibration. I mounted it on my SC4 and the spindle runs noticeably quieter now.
