Installed this on my Sieg SX3.5L to protect the column back, and the solid metal construction feels much more sturdy than the plastic guard I had rigged up before. The lack of handwheel cutouts keeps chips from getting into the Z-axis mechanism, which was exactly what I needed.

The cover fit perfectly over the column back on my SIEG mill, and I’m relieved the solid design keeps chips and dust away from the Z-axis mechanism. No issues with the lack of handwheel cutouts since I’m using the power lift exclusively.

Noticed the Z-Axis handwheels are completely blocked by the solid cover, which is exactly what I needed to keep dust out of the column area. The metal feels thick enough to handle accidental bumps while moving the mill around.
