Insert, Toroidal Cutter HF7, Tormach

Used this HF7 insert on a batch of 6061 aluminum parts and the finish came out noticeably cleaner than with my standard carbide. The cut was consistent across all twenty pieces without any edge chipping. It's holding up well for a reasonable price.

The carbide edge on this HF7 insert is holding up way better than the cheap inserts I used to run on my toroidal cutter; it just shears through aluminum without any chipping. The ISO grade N05-N25 rating seems right for my shop's needs, and it's saving me money on tool changes.

I've been using these inserts for a few months now on my 16mm toroidal cutter, and the edge retention on aluminum is impressive—still sharp after several jobs. The RDHT0702M0-FA code was a perfect match for my tool holder.
