Snugged right onto the compound rest and lined up with the existing screw holes without any filing. The DRO readout mounts solidly to it, no wobble at all. Took maybe ten minutes to swap in.

The fit on the compound rest is spot on, and threading it in took less time than I expected. Now my DRO readout sits solid with zero wobble when I crank the screw. Nice to finally have the whole kit working like it should.

Installed this on my 7x12 mini lathe and the screw finally sits rock solid with zero wobble. It also gave me a clean mounting point for the DRO readout, which cleaned up the whole carriage setup. Machined well, threads lined up first try.
