This C6 grade cuts through steel rod on my mini lathe much cleaner than the HSS bits I was using before. The brazed tip holds an edge through several projects without needing a touch-up. Exactly what I needed for hobby work.

C6 carbide is no joke—these bits handle steel like butter and haven't chipped even once during my lathe work. The brazed tip held its edge through a full afternoon of cutting, which is more than I can say for cheaper sets.

Finally got around to using these on some aluminum stock for a hobby project, and the brazed carbide tip held its edge beautifully through several dozen holes. The C6 grade really does bite into steel alloys as advertised, which makes them versatile for my small shop.
