Installed this on my SX2.7 mill and the threads engaged perfectly with the existing Z-axis assembly. The sleeve fit exactly as described for the 5500 model line, and the mesh is smooth with no binding.

The Z-axis fine feed mechanism on this shaft is noticeably smoother than the stock one, making micro-adjustments much easier. I've been using it on my 5550 and the fit was perfect with no slop. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade for precision work.

Installed this on my 5500 model and the difference in control is night and day—no more jerky movements when dialing in depth. The splines lined up perfectly with the mating gear, which was a relief since I've had fitment issues with similar parts before.
