Dead Center, 2MT Standard Length

Ground it nicely on a 1x42 belt grinder and the 60° point held true through a dozen stainless steel parts, no wobble at all at 1800 rpm. The 0.7" diameter gives it a solid feel in the tailstock, and the hardened steel finish looks like it'll last for years.

The 60º point seats perfectly in my tailstock’s center hole, and the hardened steel holds up to constant use without any wear marks. I’ve swapped it between two lathes and the 0.7" diameter fits both snugly, so it’s become my go-to for precise work.

Dead center on my mini lathe projects now with zero wobble—the 60° point bites cleanly every time. For the price of this hardened steel tool, the precision ground tip is dead-on accurate. Glad I finally upgraded from my worn-out punch.
