Dead Center, 3MT

First time using a hardened steel dead center instead of a live one on my bench lathe—the 60° point held the workpiece rock steady. No runout that I could detect with a dial indicator. Works exactly as ground for accuracy should.

Swapped the dead center onto my mini lathe and it fit perfectly with zero wobble. The 60-degree point engages cleanly and the ground finish saved me from having to true it up myself.

Put this in my mini lathe and it lined up perfectly right out of the box—the hardened steel feels solid and precise. The 60-degree point gave me a clean, accurate start on my bowl blank.
