The steady and follower rests feel solidly machined and fit perfectly on my lathe. Having the faceplate included saved me the trouble of ordering separately, so the whole setup was ready to go right out of the box.

The steady rest alone was worth it — I finally turned a long thin shaft without any chatter. Faceplate and follower rest both bolted up with zero fuss on my 8.5x20. Basically everything I'd been piecing together separately, in one box.

Got the package yesterday and the faceplate is a solid piece of cast iron, threads on smooth without any wobble. The steady rest feels sturdy enough for the price, though I wish the screws came with a bit more grease from the factory.
