Adapter, 3" Spindle to 5" Lathe Chuck

Adapter, 3" Spindle to 5" Lathe Chuck - Main image
$20.07 $29.95 In stock

This is a semi-machined adapter plate. The side that attaches to the lathe flange is fully machined. The side on which the lathe chuck mounts is not finished.

Mount the backplate adapter on your lathe and complete machining of the chuck-mounting side. This ensures two things; that it will fit your chuck, and that it is concentric on your lathe.

* Note Don't forget to purchase the appropriate set of Studs & Nuts to accommodate changes in chuck or adapter configurations.

Elizabeth ★★★★★

I mounted it on my lathe flange and it fits perfectly, requiring just light cleanup on the unfinished side. The partially machined approach saved a good bit of time compared to starting from raw stock.

Charlotte ★★★★★

Machined the mounting face true in about 20 minutes, and the fully finished lathe flange side seated perfectly on my spindle with zero runout. Now my 5" chuck swaps onto the 3" spindle without any adapter wobble. Just what I needed for a clean setup.

Eli G. ★★★★☆

The machining on the lathe flange side is clean and precise, so it mounted up without any fuss. I just wish the chuck side came with a pilot hole to help with initial alignment, but it's still a solid base to work from.
