Combined drills and countersinks, commonly called center drills, are used to produce a center hole on a workpiece for turning between centers.
Center drills are also used to start drilled holes. Because they are very stiff they don't have a tendency to wander.

Alexander ★★★★★

Finally, cobalt center drills that actually hold an edge. Using them to start precise holes in stainless steel has been a breeze, and the 60-degree countersink is perfectly ground.

Olivia M. ★★★★★

Finally got these center drills in individual sizes, and the combined drill and countersink design saves me a setup step at the lathe. The cobalt finish seems to glide through hard maple with very little chatter.

Edward S. ★★★★★

I needed a center drill that could handle hardened steel, and the cobalt material really holds up—no chipping after a dozen uses. The 60-degree countersink leaves a clean chamfer every time.
