Center Drills, HSS, Set of 4 (Numbers 1-4) - Main image
$5.64 $7.95 In stock

This set includes four different sizes of combined drills and countersinks, commonly called center drills. They are used to produce a center hole on a workpiece for turning between centers.

Center drills are also used to start drilled holes. Because they are very stiff, they don't have a tendency to wander.

The set is high speed steel and includes sizes 1, 2, 3, and 4. These are 60-degree center drills with a right-hand cutting direction. Each center drill is made of ground high speed steel for good wear resistance with a hardness rating of Rc 58 - 60.

These are the sizes that are most used by bench top machinists.

Sophia J. ★★★★★

The 60-degree countersink on these drills starts clean without chattering, and the HSS steel handles mild steel well. I needed a #1 for a small clock project and it cut through like butter.

James ★★★★★

Finally have all four sizes in one set, so I can switch between numbers 1-4 and start a hole on the lathe without hunting for a separate drill. The HSS steel feels solid and the countersink edges haven't dulled after a dozen uses. Getting the exact center each time has made my workpieces sit truer b

David ★★★★★

These center drills cut cleanly and the combination of drill and countersink in one tool saves me from swapping bits repeatedly. The number 3 size fits perfectly for my spindle work and the HSS holds an edge well through several projects.
