Insert, 16ERA60 External Thread, TiN Coated - Main image
$8.42 $12.95 In stock

The 16ERA60 TiN Coated external threading carbide Insert. It has a 60° V partial profile, allowing machinists to cut a wide variety of thread pitches without changing inserts.

  • 60° V partial profile threading insert
  • Insert is 16ERAG60
  • I.C. is 3/8"
  • Pitch range is 0.5-3.0
  • TPI is 8-48

The partial profile design (sometimes called non-cresting) only cuts the thread groove. Due to the small nose radius (0.003") a single insert can cut multiple thread pitches providing the profile angle is 60°.

The carbide substrate absorbs the cutting force and vibrations when threading steel, stainless steel and cast iron. The TiN (Titanium Nitrite) coating provides low friction and high surface hardness. Its heat and wear resistance extends the life of your cutting tool.

Ava T. ★★★★★

This insert held up for over a hundred parts in 304 stainless before I saw any edge wear, which is way better than the uncoated ones I was using. The 60° partial profile really does let me dial in different thread pitches without swapping tools, saving a lot of setup time.

Finally got a consistent finish on some tricky 4140 threads, and this TiN coated insert held its edge much better than the uncoated ones I’d been using. The 60° V partial profile really does let me dial in different pitches without swapping tooling.

Ella F. ★★★★★

Been using this 16ERA60 insert on some 4140 steel and the TiN coating really helped with chip flow and tool life. The 60° partial profile handled multiple thread pitches without swapping inserts, which saved me a lot of setup time.
