Insert, 16IRA60 Internal Thread, TiN Coated - Main image
$8.55 $12.95 In stock

The 16IRA60 TiN coated internal threading carbide Insert. It has a 60° V partial profile, allowing machinists to cut a wide variety of thread pitches without changing inserts.

  • 60° V partial profile threading insert
  • Insert is 16IRAG60
  • I.C. is 3/8"
  • Pitch range is 0.5-3.0
  • TPI is 8-48

The partial profile design (sometimes called non-cresting) only cuts the thread groove. Due to the small nose radius (0.003") a single insert can cut multiple thread pitches providing the profile angle is 60°.

The carbide substrate absorbs the cutting force and vibrations when threading steel, stainless steel and cast iron. The TiN (Titanium Nitrite) coating provides low friction and high surface hardness. Its heat and wear resistance extends the life of your cutting tool.

Evelyn Z. ★★★★★

The 60° partial profile is a game changer for me—I’ve cut both metric and UNC threads on the same insert without swapping tools. The TiN coating still looks fresh after a dozen stainless parts, and the edge hasn’t chipped once.

Lucy P. ★★★★★

I've been using this insert for several different thread pitches on steel parts, and the 60° partial profile really does save time since I'm not constantly switching tooling. The TiN coating seems to be holding up well so far with no edge wear after a decent run of parts.

Henry N. ★★★★★

Swapped out my old insert for this 60° V profile and it cut a clean thread on the first pass—no chatter, no fuss. The TiN coating held up nicely through a dozen parts so far.
