T-Handle Tap Wrench for 1/4" to 1/2" Taps, Starrett

T-Handle Tap Wrench for 1/4" to 1/2" Taps, Starrett - Main image
$54.59 $77.99 In stock

The body of this T-handle tap wrench is centered, enabling the worker to use it on lathe centers or on an upright drilling machine to start the tap straight. The jaws conform to the tool being held, making it rigid and less apt to loosen. They are properly heat treated to withstand ordinary shop use.

The wrench has a sliding handle that is frictionally held. This feature permits the handle to be removed entirely or positioned so that leverage can be applied when working in close quarters.

These tools are designed to hold square shanks. Round shanks can be gripped, but care must be used. Excessive tightening may break the binding nut.

Sebastian C. ★★★★★

The jaws gripping the tap securely on the first try is a huge time-saver for me. I just used it to start a 3/8" tap straight in the drill press, and it centered perfectly without any wobble.

Robert ★★★★★

Finally, a tap wrench that actually starts straight on the lathe. The centered body design made all the difference when I was chasing threads in a tight spot.

Lily H. ★★★★★

Finally gave this a test run on my drill press, and the centered body design kept everything perfectly aligned. Cutting threads in steel with a 1/2" tap felt much more stable than with my old adjustable tap wrench.
