T-Handle Tap Wrench for 7/32" to 7/16" Taps, Starrett

T-Handle Tap Wrench for 7/32" to 7/16" Taps, Starrett - Main image
$43.19 $59.99 In stock

The body of this T-handle tap wrench is centered, enabling the worker to use it on lathe centers or on an upright drilling machine to start the tap straight. The jaws conform to the tool being held, making it rigid and less apt to loosen. They are properly heat treated to withstand ordinary shop use.

The wrench has a sliding handle that is frictionally held. This feature permits the handle to be removed entirely or positioned so that leverage can be applied when working in close quarters.

These tools are designed to hold square shanks. Round shanks can be gripped, but care must be used. Excessive tightening may break the binding nut.

Ryan C. ★★★★★

The jaws really grip the tap firmly without slipping, even on slightly worn shanks. I've been using it on an upright drill to get clean starts, and the centered body keeps everything true. Exactly what I needed for precise work.

Avery Y. ★★★★★

The centered body is a game-changer for keeping taps straight on the drill press. Jaws grip the tap shank firmly without slipping, even on the smaller 7/32" sizes. Exactly what I needed for consistent threads.

Julian ★★★★★

The jaws really do grip the tap square, no wobble at all once you snug it down. I used it on the lathe to start a 3/8" tap dead straight, and it ran true the whole way in. Beats the stamped wrench I've been fighting with for years.
