T-Handle Tap Wrench for #0 to #10 Taps, Starrett

T-Handle Tap Wrench for #0 to #10 Taps, Starrett - Main image
$34.09 $54.99 In stock

The body of this T-handle tap wrench is centered, enabling the worker to use it on lathe centers or on an upright drilling machine to start the tap straight. The jaws conform to the tool being held, making it rigid and less apt to loosen. They are properly heat treated to withstand ordinary shop use.

The wrench has a sliding handle that is frictionally held. This feature permits the handle to be removed entirely or positioned so that leverage can be applied when working in close quarters.

These tools are designed to hold square shanks. Round shanks can be gripped, but care must be used. Excessive tightening may break the binding nut.

Zoe ★★★★★

I bought this for starting taps on my drill press and the jaws grip much better than my old wrench, no slipping even on smaller #2 taps. The centered handle makes it easy to keep the tap straight in the chuck.

William ★★★★★

The centered body is a lifesaver when I’m starting a thread on the drill press—it stays perfectly true without any wobble. The jaws really do conform to the tap, so even a tiny #4 doesn’t slip under pressure.

Steven ★★★★★

The jaws grip #6 and #8 taps snugly without any wobble, and the centered body lets me start threads perfectly square on my drill press. It’s a solid, no-fuss tool that’s made tapping far less fiddly.
