Tool Bit Sharpening Training Set - Main image

Learn how to grind tool bits with this set. The presharpened tool bits show you how the finished product should look. The unsharpened tool bits give you plenty of practice.

The presharpened tool bits are ground in the same manner as hand-ground tool bits so they provide an example of how to properly grind tool bits.

All the tool bits are M2 high speed steel. M2 is a high speed steel in the tungsten-molybdenum series. The carbides in it are small and evenly distributed. It has high wear resistance. It is used to manufacture a variety of tools, such as drill bits, taps and reamers.

Jacob S. ★★★★★

The presharpened bits are a huge help for seeing the target geometry, and the plain steel ones are soft enough to shape quickly. I finally feel confident tackling my own lathe tools after a few practice runs.

David D. ★★★★★

Having both the presharpened and unsharpened bits in one kit made it super easy to see the target shape before I started practicing on the rougher ones. The finished edge on the reference bits is clean enough to copy without squinting.

Riley B. ★★★★★

Finally get to see what a properly ground bit looks like side by side with my attempts. The presharpened ones really help you understand the angles before you start grinding the unsharpened ones.
