I've been using this kit for a few weeks now, and the HSS triangle inserts cut cleanly through mild steel without chattering. The 3/8" shank fits securely in my tool post.

The indexing mechanism locks in tight right out of the box, which made swapping to a fresh triangle edge quick and hassle-free. I’ve been using it on a manual lathe for light profiling, and the HSS insert holds an edge noticeably longer than my old carbide bits.

Cut through some hardened steel on my lathe today and the HSS inserts held their edge way better than the cheap import sets I've been using. This kit is solidly built and the insert indexing was precise right out of the box.
