The 30-tooth gear on this shaft meshed perfectly with my existing setup, making the two-speed swap straightforward. It's noticeably sturdier than the old plastic part I pulled out.

Finally got around to swapping out the plastic gear on my X3, and this 30-tooth metal version is noticeably quieter. The two speed options are a nice bonus, though I’ve only used the larger one so far. Feels like it’ll hold up way better than the original.

Running the X3 mill with this metal gear, the two speeds are noticeably more precise for aluminum work than the plastic parts I used before. Fits perfectly on the center shaft, and the 30-tooth gear gives just the right torque for deeper cuts.
