Just used a couple of these to lock down a jig on my benchtop mill and the flat point seats nicely without marring the surface. The 1-1/2" length gave me plenty of thread engagement, and they snugged up with a clean, solid feel.

The 10-32 threads cut perfectly into my mill table, and the 1.5-inch length gave just enough bite without bottoming out. The socket flat point seated flush against the mounting plate, which was exactly what I needed.

I needed a longer set screw for my mill's hold-downs, and the 1-1/2" length was exactly right for the job. The 10-32 threads cut cleanly into my tapped holes without any binding.
