The lever locks the tailstock securely with just a 45-degree turn, which is so much easier than the old screw method. Drilling the one hole was straightforward with a standard bit. It's made adjusting the lathe setup a quick, one-handed job.

Installed this on my mini lathe yesterday and the lever action locks the tailstock securely with just a 45-degree move. Drilling that single 1/2" hole was straightforward and took maybe ten minutes. It’s a simple upgrade that makes adjusting the tailstock much quicker.

Finally, no more cranking that rusty bolt. The lever action locks the tailstock rock-solid after just a 45-degree turn. I did have to drill the 1/2-inch hole, but the kit included everything else.
