The V-groove design grabbed the tap on a round rod without any wobble, which surprised me for the price. I tested it on a few different sized holes and the threads came out straight every time. This is the first guide that actually makes hand tapping feel foolproof.

Finally a tap guide that actually keeps the tap perpendicular on square stock without me having to eyeball it. I'm a fan of how the adjustable V-block adapts to different corner shapes. Just wish the finish was a bit more scratch-resistant, but for the price it's a solid value.

Used it to start a 1/4-20 tap on a curved surface and the spring-loaded center pin kept everything dead square. First time I’ve had threads come out this clean without wobbling.
